Jobs dropped out because he wanted to drop out, had nothing to do with his parents. Jobs dumped his pregnant gf because he wanted to not because of someone else. I have a lot of respect for his technical vision but he was a self centered asshole with zero empathy for others.

There are similarity between the two: Jobs cofounded Apple, the real technical brain behind Apple was Wozniak. Ma cofounded Alibaba, the real technical brain behind was someone else.

A successful business person is mostly not a technical genius but someone who is able to sense opportunity and figures out a way to take advantage, an integrator. Most technical genius cannot but an integrator can.
