When you want to short bonds using ETF. TBT is an option.

And I could also do the synthetic of a short with options but how come that there's no TLT to short ? This is not a illiquid thing. Is that normal in IB or was just today ?

you trade the options on TLT, tlt is not shortable, so I've heard

Typically you cannot short an ETF. You have to buy the inverse.

I know this is a different animal but ATM options on TLT are very liquid and trade well
