Tips

Quote from Brandonf:

Yesterday on my way to lunch I saw a homeless guy outside the restaurant with a sign that read 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' I chuckled to myself.

Once in the restaurant, I noticed my server had on an 'Obama 08' button. He was a very friendly and clean-cut young man with good skills. Again I chuckled as I started to create my plan.

When the bill came I explained to my server that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I explained to him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who, I deemed, to be more in need - the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed away.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my redistribution experiment, I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, even though the actual recipient may have needed the money more.

What does this experiment prove? Not much to me, but it obviously makes sense to Obama.

I don't believe you did that.

The diner was the hedge fund manager. He was doing community service for securities fraud.

When you managed OPM, what was your fee arrangement?

is this part of the GOP talking points ?

republicans are only capable of communicating using pithy stories, name calling, and bumper stickers. They generally lack intellectual curiosity.

GOP = no fact zone.

Probably not, given that's it an email going around.

I believe it's the moral of the story
that he's trying to get people to consider.

Don't you find it interesting that 'Conservatives' need to come up with stories to justify their positions? Hey, when you can't win with the facts...
