Yesterday on my way to lunch I saw a homeless guy outside the restaurant with a sign that read 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' I chuckled to myself.

Once in the restaurant, I noticed my server had on an 'Obama 08' button. He was a very friendly and clean-cut young man with good skills. Again I chuckled as I started to create my plan.

When the bill came I explained to my server that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I explained to him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who, I deemed, to be more in need - the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed away.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.

At the end of my redistribution experiment, I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn, even though the actual recipient may have needed the money more.

What does this experiment prove? Not much to me, but it obviously makes sense to Obama.
 
What the hell is up with all the conservatives pretending that Obama has invented the concept of taxes?

He (stupidly) used the phrase "spread around the wealth". That's it. His tax plans are on par with Clinton or any other Democratic president.

He's just another crappy "tax and spend" Democrat. As opposed to a "spend and spend and spend and SPEND AND SPEND" Republican.

If Obama is a "socialist", what the hell does that make FDR? Stalin's twin brother?

+1, big time. The G.O.P brain trust leapt all over Obama's stupid use of that phrase and made it the centrepiece of their attack campaign.

Guess what? Today, for the first time in this election, I heard John McCain, speaking in Cali after a rousing introduction by Arnold, give a speech in which, for at least 5 minutes, he didn't make a series personal fearmongering attacks on Obama, talking instead about his platform and what he would do as President.

The amazing thing is that it's not too late for McCain.
 
When having money taken away from you it is definitely a natural reaction to be angry. I think everyone knows that, even the big government liberals. They with their power of relation know it pisses rich people off and some feel sorry for the rich but still want it to happen and some love the fact that they are pissing off the rich people. Point understood.

The point that is misunderstood is the most important point of all and that is the point of timing. Timing is everything. It is making a successful trade, it is hitting a 90 mph pitch and it is the ability of making the right decisions during bad economic times. Lets say that the GDP stayed the same every year for years on end. Having a pattern of a liberal's and conservatives elected is nothing out of the ordinary. The pattern of liberals increasing and conservatives decreasing is nothing out of the ordinary. It is out of the ordinary if they do the opposite.

The problem and the point. The problem and the point is that Obama is delivering his tax policy, plans and ideas as if the economy was what it was in the summer of 2007. It is almost absurd that he has not changed his view on taxes to adjust to the present state of the economy. The bottom line is that raising taxes now will only slow the economy down more and might even cause the economy to go even lower. Don't take it from me, take it from economists that say raising taxes in a possible recession is a bad idea!

Amazing how the media doesn't touch this. What does CNN and MSNBC talk about when they talk about Obama's tax policy. They make two simple very vague and dismissive points. They argue he is not a socialist and they argue that his plan will help the middle class theoretically.

I don't believe Obama is an evil socialist. I believe he is so stubborn with his ideology that he is unwilling change his beliefs in order to adjust to the country.

I would like to add a few points.

First, you made a choice to give the 5 dollars to someone who needs it. The gov didn't make that choice for you.

Second, you did not set up an inefficient bureaucracy to decide who gets your 5 dollars, or what's left of it after the established agency gets done with that 5 dollars. In your case, the person in need got all of the 5 dollars. Perhaps he wouldn't have seen any if gov distributed the money.

And you proved that it's not selfish (as Obama recently stated) for you to keep what's yours as your method of helping the less fortunate was far superior to the government’s.

The miffed waiter should have patted you on the shoulder, but then he might be like all the rich liberals who want to feel good by sharing your money instead of their own. Therefore he concluded you were just another evil conservative.

The experiment proves you know better how to deal with your money than the government does.
