It is the legions of amateur retail traders looking for the big score on TSLA or from shorting stocks that should be very afraid. Shorting stocks by borrowing it is one of the riskiest things to do. Imagine, if any of these retail traders short a stock thinking they will become rich in the process. However, the stock rockets higher and goes up 20, 30 points? They now have to chase the stock and close their stock positions or risk even a larger loss? Your risk to the upside is unlimited.
