Time to bring back the draft/ 2 year rotations?

Not all that bad of an idea for the presidency. I know I've read somewhere here about voting being connected with having a job and paying taxes. That's what I was referring to. Perhaps you were never in on that converstion, but I know others have posted as such.
I'm no dove, but I do think we as a nation should be putting a whole lot more thought into when and where we send our troops.
Maybe we can agree on this. Any member of congress who has not served in the military cannot have any say or voting rights regarding military action, and those that do have a vote must be willing to send their children to the slaughter right up front.
No, see that is just stupid. That would mean you would support Sarah Palin deciding on when and if we should go to war and Ron Paul would have no voice based on their kids serving. That's stupid. I think we all like the spirit of that but there is absolutely no practicality there. I want the most "intelligent"' people making the most "important" decisions. I don't want to delegate stuff like that to whether or not you have kids in the service. Come on. You are smarter then that.
As far as voting. Everyone should be allowed to vote. But I do have a problem with the bottom 50% of society who pays NO taxes dictating to the other 50% who DO pay taxes what they should pay. Of course Captain I have a very easy solution to that. EVERYONE should pay federal income taxes! EVERYONE! Problem solved there.
Was Palin in the military? Not to my knowledge. Her having a kid in the military would not give her the voting right to go to war. Far as having the most intelligent people having the vote on war, that's a whole different discussion because there are few if any intelligent people in government.
The right to vote will never be fair, just like freedom. Some have earned it, most have not, and are just lucky to be born here in America.
Well, I was referring to the idea that only members of Congress who have kids that are serving could be eligible to make decisions of war. If we limit it to only people who have actually served then hello John McCain, the most pro war guy in the world is going to decide on whether or not we go to war. LOL. No thanks Captain. I'll take the system we have now.
Remember insuring the Vietnam draft there were lots of loopholes and things like college exemptions. So the only people that got drafted was the children of regular working class americans.
