It is interesting on several levels. There are like 3 tiers of dissonance at work:
1) Leftists think violent protest accomplishes something positive for their agenda.
2) Leftists think that republicans are incapable of defending against violent protest.
3) Leftists seem entirely unaware of how violent protest is perceived in middle-America.
Layer upon layer of delusion and dissonant thought, like an onion lacking a central core. You peel those layers away and there is simply nothing there at the center except in Ricter's case where what remains is clearly a cynical drunk.

what else can they do? Capitalists are motivated by money. The only thing a democrat understands is force.The left regularly uses violence as a tool against their political opponents. This started way before Trump. Recent examples include BLM and Occupy Wall Street.
