Tick Data Feed - Cost?

Quote from mizhael:

So what's good about "real real time tick data" vs. "snapshot tick data"?

It depends on your system's requirements. For some high-frequency trading systems real-time tick data is a must, since the system can see and catch quotes not visible otherwise. Not mentioning algo/SR/arb strategies...
But get ready to pay in 1-2k range for a good RT feed.

I have used eSignal Premier for years and am very happy with it. I could be wrong but I seem to have read that you are considering to include the worldwide delayed intraday data that is offered in eSignal OnDemand to eSignal Premier customers. If so, that would certainly add to the overall attractiveness of eSignal by giving us the opportunity to study intraday movements of other markets in which we may be interested in trading. Is this really being considered?

Also, I recently spoke to someone who might be interested in eSignal On Demand. What is the intraday data delay time? Or does it vary by exchange? Thank you.

Great to hear the service is working so well for you. We are looking at blending the snapshot functionality of OnDemand with our streaming real-time service but it's likely at least a few months away.

In the meantime, you can add bundles of streaming delayed data to your account for as little as $5/mo. Here's the bundle pricing:

In terms of the delay times, we use the exchange minimum guidelines. All are between 10-30 minutes and the delay times should be pretty universal across all suppliers.

Take care.

anyone could suggest any good/reliable/cheap data feed providers of the following exchanges ?

--NYSE, --TSE (Tokyo), --HKSE, --LSE

Since I am just starting out and wont trade many shares, cant afford to buy expensive data feed yet. thanks.

Since you live in Japan you can real time data for free for all Japan exchanges if you open an account with Matsui Shouken.

Hey Tony,

While not a tick by tick streaming solution, eSignal OnDemand covers all those markets with intraday charting down to 1 minute intervals (on a delayed basis). You'll get exchanges across the globe for just $34.95 a month.

You can use over 100 built-in indicators or develop your own strategies via our EFS engine and test your skills with our bar replay or backtesting option. A great solution for new or casual traders.

There is no minimum. But its 1 minute charts go back only 5 days. And you can't adjust the y-axis as you can with eSignal. So the charts are sometimes difficult to read. But it's free!! And as long as you're new to this, you might want to follow the market real time to get a feel for it. You can follow the Nikkei futures until 8 P.M. with Matsui.

As it currently stands, eSignal only runs in "online" mode and doesn't store any data locally.

Thanks.

Scott, does Esignal provide any 1-min historical data (downloadable) for NYSE names?
