Thoughts on AlphaResearch ?

Just came across this website AlphaResearch, which seems to do wonder for searching companies filings texts and transcripts data + basic fundamentals with global coverage. Previously, there were Sentieo and AlphaSense both of which are ridiculously expensive for normal investors.

Just thinking this could be a great product for the smaller guys ? Anyone have experience using this software extensively ?
 
Looks like a simple pared down version of AlphaSense (which I use). It’s helpful if you know what you’re doing.

E.g. you want to know what managers are saying about how rising oil prices will impact their company’s bottom line. You can do a search across all companies (better if you narrow down to certain industry or peer group), drop all the quotes into a note, and then use the note to identify a theme. If you’re not used to structured research then I doubt it’d help.
 
So, I come back from some travel/holidays and find a new post (with a nice hyperlink) to a new web site, from a low post count user. Red flag. Let me dig deeper.

AlphaResearch.io appears to be run by the same people as Finnhub.io (same language used, same Terms), a company that has shilled here before and has dubious business practises and morals, and has been previously called out here for such behavior by legitimate sources such as @Polygon.io

Avoid them like the plague.

Hey ! Thank you for the input. Can you share how much are you guys paying for the AlphaSense license? I think I will give AlphaResearch a try to see how it fits into my research process and let you guys know since I read through 10-K and 10-K reports a lot manually.
 
jharmon: I'm not sure what is the beef between you + Polygon and Finnhub but I did some research of my own and doesn't look like they deserve the hate you are throwing at them. The post you referenced have also been deleted by admin for a reason since I couldn't find it. If you can't comment on the quality/usability of the software itself and is using this thread to satisfy your own grudge, I would appreciate if you can go somewhere else to do that.

That whole thread (and several others) was deleted by admins here due to shills of Finnhub - thankfully I took screenshots - lol. Plenty more of them.

I really wonder what your reason is for coming back to EliteTrader after a year and posting about a relatively new site.

I have a friend who is in college right now doing some sort of Finance major - all of Finnhub's "new features" (and now Alphasense) seem to be exactly what is offered to him with strict licensing. Most intriguing.

I postulate that Finnhub simply copies content that they had available to them during their college days as foreign students enrolled in US universities. Where else could Finnhub (formed by a couple of graduates) (and now Alpharesearch) provide institutional data sets such as ESG, tick data (I guess they got that from @Polygon.io too), fundamental data, transcripts, patents, visa applications and mutual fund data. Not one mention of a data source in their systems, which is most strange for licensed content.

Seems like a blatant case of stolen intellectual property to me.

Now, you tell me, what research did you do about the authenticity of this provider? Provide details. You've now sent me on a chase to learn more, because I enjoy getting to the bottom of things. Maybe I should have become a detective or a PI - lol.
 
Or a research based short seller (like Carson block).
