Bad for you you're krackin' up on the wrong guy -- I don't believe that kids of that age should be playing with guns (or ammo or facsimile or violent video games or ... or...). I do think there is an age (perhaps early teens) where gun respect and safety can/should be taught in a non militaristic environment.
I don't really have a problem with parents who raise their kids to hunt (though I didn't/wouldn't), but I do have a problem with parents who allow their kids to trivialize war/crime/etc. by playing with toy guns, etc.
