This Trader Just Committed Suicide

The definition I use for intuitive is knowing with relative ease or effort. I think what Yogananda was eluding to was simple acceptance and faith that God exists. He is trying to rid the mind of the battle between evolution and the Grand Plan. If there is a Grand Plan why can't evolution be built into it? Once you can reach the state of acceptance and pure faith a heavy burden is lifted.

Quote from telozo:

Yogananda taught his students the need for direct experience of truth, as opposed to blind belief. He said that “The true basis of religion is not belief, but intuitive experience. Intuition is the soul’s power of knowing God. To know what religion is really all about, one must know God.

A bit of a contradiction in terms. What exactly is intuitive experience? Some kind of gut feeling for traders? We all know how well that works!

Thanks for the suggestions. The next book I had on my reading list was "The Second Coming of Christ..." but at 1700 pages I hesitate. Perhaps I'll take a detour and read what you have suggested below. Although, a friend of mine said if you read The Second Coming it will change your life in ways you could never imagine.

Quote from Harry Minot:

There are three excellent collections of Yogananda's essays and talks: Man's Eternal Quest, The Divine Romance, and Journey to Self-Realization.

Emmet Fox's The Sermon On The Mount may also be of some value, as might A Course In Miracles (http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/A_Course_in_Miracles/Text).
