In any case, if the public opinion was negative on Israel, would the local Israel apologists then change their position about Israel being in the wrong...because public opinion says so?

Public opinion polls are useful for getting a handle on upcoming elections, but beyond that? Policy in Israel or the middle east should be influence by public opinion?

Apparently it is, given the blind support the US throws Israel's direction...

In the book "Dune" by Frank Herbert there is an underlying premise:

"He who controls spice, controls the universe."

In modern day America, he who controls the corporate media, shapes public opinion.

Who controls corporate media, and what is their agenda?

Maybe it is time we showed some support for David in current this David vs. Goliath conflict...

No one forces the west to buy oil from any Arab...

The west has had well over 30 years since the oil embargo to get off the Arab oil...

...and the west did nothing to change the equation.

Why is that? Why did the west continue to remain in a position of dependence on Arab oil?

The west is not a victim of Arab oil, or OPEC, ect.

America is a victim of our own stupidity, like not becoming energy independent when we had a wake up call, like continuing to fund Israel's war machine, etc.

Would it be difficult for someone who owns only .4% of the land of their neighbors having a motive to increase their land through any means possible as their population increases, rationalizing every land grab as the spoils of conquest?

Oh, that must be why Israel completely withdrew from the Sinai, Lebanon, Gaza... That must be why the arab world is not rushing to make peace with Israel, somehow they don't appear all that terrified of Israel's military superiority and potential spoils of conquest.

LOL, America has thousands of nukes, so does russia, China, France, the UK... and nevertheless the arab world had no trouble making peace with them. Yet it had trouble accepting Israel's right to exist even before Israel had nukes...in fact they repeatedly tried to [gasp] wipe it off the map.
