Speaking of which, how much did Trump's "freedom of expression" cost your country in actual damage and reputation? Can you even put a number on it?

That's a hard question to answer. I found Trump's "freedom of expression" to be both entertaining and embarrassing. His speeches made me laugh and cringe at the same time. I hope he doesn't run again in 2024.

I do miss the memes though. Social media was funnier when he was in office.

I expect Frederick means the anti-mask/anti-vax & hate speech he dabbled in carrying a human & economic toll. While protected, it's why other western nations have looser interpretation of "your speech shall do no harm to others".

The protests/riots this past year created more than $1B in damage. Can you imagine what it would be like if our country started taxing and requiring insurance for someone to utilize their freedom of expression?

Constitutional rights shouldn't be infringed like this. I expect the SCOTUS to strike this down.

Putting a fee on 2nd Amendment is an easy strike down in this case but there should be more universal laws at least on gun storage and criminal penalties. Those parents of the Michigan shooter should have been arrested and thrown in jail immediately and we could have avoided that tragedy a well as the Sandy Hook tragedy in CONN if there were stiff penalities and laws for proper storage and porhibiting non licensed people form touching guns.

One thing that everyone can agree on is that gun owners should be responsible when they carry or store their firearms. Allowing children access to firearms is somewhat of a gray area. I spent my teenage years on a farm, and I had easy access to rifles whenever I wanted to go hunting or check cattle. I never really thought my parents were irresponsible for allowing me this access, but I never showed any signs of violence or mental illness either.

The 2nd is really an aspiration, not a practical law. The conditions of the time no longer exist and the creation of the federal army just means whole lot of dead mall ninjas.

Children and poorly educated should never be exposed to bullshit like rights when there are many kinds of rights, most if not all actually priviliges.

I guess we can argue about what "proper storage" actually means. I know a lot of people that keep a firearm within reach of their bed in case someone breaks into their house.

The main issue I have is when someone leaves guns easily visible for thieves to steal. It blows my mind when people leave rifles unattended in a gun rack on the back window of their pickup. I'm also not a fan of leaving firearms out of a safe when leaving the house. It isn't uncommon for thieves to steal safes though, so that doesn't always help.
