Since I live in Alabama he just might get my vote, however my first choice would be to eliminate the Fed Dept of agriculture altogether and all the other useless agencies too.

Both of these presidents you mentioned were not farmers.

Madison inherited a tobacco plantation but he was never a farmer, instead he studied law, became a lawyer and entered politics.

Washington studied to be a surveyor. He later married into some property, but was actually appointed at the age of 20 to be a major in the Virginia militia. If he was ever a "planter", defined as some one who owned 20 or more slaves and worked the land, that wasn't really his occupation.
