Wow. Defund the police. What could go wrong?

I'm powerless like everyone else watching this happen. Its gut retching to see people losing what they built and not a cop in sight.

There is sort of a consolation in that the destruction is being done by leftists in leftist cities with the approval of leftist leaders.

There is no visible sign of any of this in places I live. No "protests", no rioting and no looting. They are red areas in blue states. If this is the pattern across the country it means that generally blue areas are destroying themselves while red areas are reopening, rehiring and getting a jump on recovery.

Maybe the federal government should hang back for a little bit and not intervene. The people in those blue areas are getting the government they voted for. Why should the federal government interfere with that? Lets respect the "will of the people" and let those cities and their politics run its natural course.
