Personally, I like carbines. (1) Modern ones shoot pistol rounds, so less likely to penetrate through walls to accidentally kill neighbors (especially with hollow-points), and (2) it's easy to hit target with a rifle, even a short one like a carbine. (Very easy to miss with hand gun.) A friend of mine who is a deputy sheriff and homicide investigator also recommends ".22 cal semi-auto rifle" as a home defense weapon... cheap, easy to hit target and can put several rounds on target quickly." (You don't have to kill/incapacitate an invading perp... just putting him in a world of hurt so he no longer wants to pursue his aggression is a good thing too.)

Carbines... recommend (1) Hi-Point 9mm/.40/.45 cal, and (2) Henry, .357/.44 Magnums

Sure hope that homeowner was black. Otherwise we're gonna hear about how this bible-studying youth was preparing to go to college on his way to becoming a doctor. He wandered by the house (after feeding the homeless all day), saw a burglary in progress and entered the house to dissuade the two misguided youths that this was a bad thing to do. He had already convinced them into turning over their only gun. When the homeowner showed up, he was trying to give the gun to the rayciss homeowner who saw the opportunity to fulfill his lifelong dream of killing a black kid.

Interestingly enough, all three of the kids had the same name. Just ask their families. They will all tell you:

"He Dindew Nuffins!"

The comments to the article are priceless. They bear out my comment on another thread that the race card has been worn out through overuse.

The dead kid's relatives are very upset. He didn't deserve to get shot for breaking into an occupied house in the middle of the night. This is the kind of attitude we get when the president, attorney general and media encourage tribal loyalty rather than adherence to the law.

The story occurred in 2010 according to the date of the comments. Thankfully this thing didn't blow up like similar cases.

Says the man who pastes exclusively from huffypost and slate? Seriously dude, you really need to try a little harder.

Simple question. Why can't the democrats attract their historical share of the white vote? Are there really that many racists who are appalled at the idea of a black president? Or maybe something else is at work, like the democrats have linked their brand to the Sharptons, Holders and other race hustlers?

It's not my opinioin or some right wing website's opinion. The stats are what they are. The democrat party is having a desperately hard time attracting white voters. The ones they do attract come from narrow demographics, eg homos, young clueless single women, etc.
