Quote from enforcer99:

the dollar is rising becasue of the inflation data.

Plus people are realizing that the Euro is bs due to the insurmountable long term structural problems that Europe has.

Finally at 2pm we get the other side of the salad bowl to form in the ER2! Up to then it was a pooper scooper. Well, I was over two hours off, guys. Sorry. Feel free to trash me for bad timing. We did get there in the end though. A good day until 1pm for reversal trades, then long at 2pm and hang on to your hats! I am out for the day now. A good day, but it wasn't without its white knuckle moments.

Quote from enforcer99:

with all the fed did yesterday, the LOBOR rate and the european rates barely moved. this sent a message to the markets that the fed's attempts to help the market are futile at best. now,to add insult to injury, the inflation numbers that were just released a few minutes ago were much worse(higher) than expected. what the heck is the fed supposed to do now! they cannot lower rates any more because a weaker dollar will add fuel to inflation. this might be very ugly today and i mean ugly. no last minute bounce like we had yesterday.
Yea, but look at the serious contango in LIBOR and Euorodollar futures. Sombody is expecting rates to plummet over the next 9-12 months.

And that's exactly what happened - rates plunged 200 basis pts over the following 3 months with a bit of a rise lately. I made a killing from the drop. Anyone else?
