This is the most godless city in America

If you don’t believe in God, you might want to move to the Pacific Northwest.

it's also a good place to move if you don't want to be surrounded by superstitious people who still believe in God. We'll just have to see who has the worst weather, the godless Pacific Northwest or the Bible Belt. Now me personally? I believe in God, but I don't like to be around people who also believe. If I wanted to be around people who believe in God like I do I would move to places around Stanford or MIT or Oxford.

I understand thorazine is a good drug for schizophrenia.

He's way past that and on to electric shock therapy. I say up the voltage.
the conversation changes when you replace the word "God" with "Prime Mover." They were debating it back when I was a kid. There's the God you pray to when your team is down by a run in the bottom of the ninth, and the God you think you are honoring when you behead a western journalist, and the God who is still mad at the rascists in the Bible Belt and allows tornados to just run through their neighborhoods without so much as lifting a finger, and the God who I know I have a place for in my heart and not anything, not a woman, not trading, not money, not drugs, not anything else can fill. It is a place just for Him, and nothing less will do.

That is an interesting, if somewhat cryptic, description. I would expect to hear the same level of devotion from someone who has been "born again" or come back from some sort of substance or alcohol abuse.

Not that this level of devotion is a bad thing, quite the contrary. It sounds as if it is your North Star, and that's good.

Brother Loyek, can you tell us if you have experimented with drugs at some time in your life?
If you prefer not to say, I understand.

not only did I, I still am
when you move to Utah and give up coffee, alcohol, and aspirin let me know. I've never met a totally drug free individual. I pay my parents drug bills each month, you can't believe how much they are prescribed.

yes, most of my world view was established on just one LSD trip when I was young. I gave up my complete personal identity and merged with the universal. Not unlike what the democrats want all people to do.

I like the spiritual aspect of it all...don't care much for the political interpretation

let man do what he does best, let God do what He does best
