I agree with almost everything you say about the education system. However, it is, in layman's terms, an A to B fallacy. It isn't that the education system is that screwed up. We have plenty of intelligent, well-educated people. The problem is that the stupid people far outnumber the smart people. They don't want to get educated, or if they do, they want to study underwater basket weaving and bemoan student debt. The system works for those that utilize correctly.

100% agree however that the school from K-12 is indeed absolutely "bollocked" as the Brits would say. They invest little to nothing during those times, which is probably why so many people don't value getting a good education. Our universities are some of the best only because we are instant gratification centric. Alumni and gov'ts spend more/donate more to universities than K-12. Professors get more respect than K-12 teachers. They get paid better too.

In short, it isn't the system that is bollocked, it is the people. Bernie Sanders rode an antithetical wave to Trump, stirring the discontent of millennials who refuse or don't have the brains to study things that matter. They elect people who will placate them.

It's an issue w/at least 50% of evangelicals I come across. Catholics embraced it prolly 100 yrs ago.

In Italy, and specially in Spain, they don't have enough tests. France a bit and Germany in particular seem to be not counting all dead. Best estimate so far seems to be about 2%. But who knows for real?

Most degrees are useless. Nobody including myself cares about your art degree or your MBA. You go to university to learn how to work for somebody else then complain that the gov't is taxing the rich who use the tax code to their advantage.

Become an entrepreneur and stop bitching about the state of the school system. US universities are among the best in the world. Ask yourself why foreign countries like the accept US degrees, but the US won't recognize most foreign degrees.

Europe will accept my chemistry degree. Most US school won't recognize my Irish friend's electrical engineering degree. He has to repeat many courses here.

If European countries thought the US university education was shit, why would do they accept them? Why do let us not accept theirs?
