Quote from Madison:
it's easy to see how sane men would go haywire in that situation. it's a surprise that more don't. the larger share of blame rests on those that put them in that position for their own profit, and on the fools and criminals that enabled it.
Exactly! I surely dont want to overly blame the troops for sure it is just the nature of the beast. The problem is that too many Americans do not truly understand the nature of the beast or they wouldn't be so quick to unleash it as if they were doing someone a favor. These guys are OUR representatives and like it or not they do represent us. We create them with long hours, high protien diets, esprit de corp, etc. Like I have said before , The best way to support our troops is to get them out of this shit hole situation. If you are not going to take them out of country at least move them out of the cities and onto bases where they will be 1) better protected, and 2) removed from such constant military/civilian intermingling.
The supporters of "staying the course" sicken me with their naivete and/or negligence. They use rational-lies to blindly support a policy which has inadvertantly turned our field troops into policemen in a foreign country because like their leader they refuse to admit a mistake. Wake up! We went into that war full of piss and vinegar and WITHOUT A PLAN. As a result we have taken upon ourselves the "right" to completely upend Iraqi society as if we were qualified.
I admit that I was somewhat ambivalent if not supportive of military action myself. Just like the young kid that joined the Army 25 years ago I was ready to go "blow some shit up". I watched CNN and popped popcorn during the "Shock and Awe". With that said let me say this, I WAS NEVER ARROGANT ENOUGH TO PROPOSE TO YOU THAT I WAS QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. On the other hand, Dubya did. And in his completely unfounded arrogance he rushed in where angels fear to tread. He is an idiot and needs to be run out of Washington as fast as physically possible. Ill be voting Wesley Clark in 08 and only wish it could be sooner!
