Roman Abramovich, one of the richest Russian oligarchs, announced that he is selling Chelsea United, his UK football team. He expects to get $4B for it (thought I doubt that will be the final price). That was to be expected.

But he also announced that all proceeds from the sale will go into a charity fund for the victims of the war in Ukraine.
 
If nobody is allowed to deal with any Russian businesses under the sanctions, he wouldn't be able to sell it for even $1.

Orwellian. In Russia, the slogan "No to War" will get you 15 years imprisonment for:

"дискредитация ВС и призыв к воспрепятствованию их использования" - "discrediting the Russian military and a call to prevent its use" (translation mine)
 
Ukraine is the most corrupt country in the world. Funneling proceeds into Ukraine allows him to then move the money to an offshore Trust and place himself as head of the Trust. Pay himself a huge salary. And still look great to the world. The team actually is already in the hands of a UK Chelsea trust which as a few other offices around the world. One in each of the countries he holds passports in.
