This gets me so angry....

You don't get it. CNBC (properly should be renamed CN-BS) is one of the "Powers".... made up of the Administration, Fed, Financial Services Industries, and Media. All are in collusion to obfuscate facts and promote bullishness on all fronts for their own interests. Truth be damned!

CNBC is fine to watch, I watch it everyday all day, but if you're trying to trade off it, you're probably clueless. The bashing of CNBC in this thread is silly. CNBC is news and its entertainment, take it for that and that alone. It makes no difference what their tone is regarding the current market. The tone of their voice does not move the markets and does not make a bit of difference in trading.

Traders need to focus on what matters and this really doesn't matter.

Quote from lilduckling:

CNBC will hoot and holler when the mkts are at or near new year highs... and i mean they wont shut up about it.... all like little kids on the night before Christmas.... even though the mkts may be at that level with no technical strength behind it. And in some cases the mkts open on a huge gap up, and start steadily trading down for the rest of the day.... but the CNBC cheerleaders will come on and report that the "mkt are strong today...." never mind that its been weak from the open and getting weaker. I really hate this kind of reporting...but what really burns me is when mkts are red or really really bearish.... there will be a somber tone in the reporting....a depressing, sad, commentary.

In all fairness to CNBC, Bob Pasani has stated that even though the market has been up the A/D Line and other tech. indicators do not support the strength.

I put CNBC on mute just so I can see the indexes, stock ticker and news alerts. What Mark and David bullshit about or how funny it is for them to push the AFLAC button over and over is no different than Cramer in a way. CNBC targets the Money Magazine audience which makes sense since mutual funds and places like Fidelity and TDWaterhouse are their main sponsors (commercials).

I don't agree with this assesment. IMO they are pretty good about reporting both sides of market. However, when it comes to GE, they are clearly biased towards reporting good news vs bad.

To be frank with you, I have either CNBC of Bloomberg on most of the day (mostly Bloomberg) but with the volume turned down.

Per usual, I agree with Gnome. However, I will make one exception. CNBC Europe is actually decent. Whenever I am up watching the overnight markets, I find they really do cater to a more cynical and sober audience. The guests are no frills for the most part and display more critical thought and reasoning.
