I agree with you there, there is definetely a fun scene in SZ, just not the expat oriented area, although Futian is much better than Shekou, i'm surprised you write don't go to Futian as actually you find a mix of young locals along some foreigners in the pubs there.

Seeing women as an equal partner in your life is more or less still a uniquely
western thing, exceptions in HK and Singapore.

Koreans and Japans economy is more or less still ruled by huge conglomerates
closely related to the government.

Taiwan and china economy is more of a hustler scene, a lot of new money
hustling their way to the stop from nothing but mostly with help from the CCP.

Overall the men over there act like teenagers compared to a westerner of roughly
the same age group. That is part of the appeal of the white guy except the local asian ladies have learned to avoid the surfer dude and stoner types that goes backpacking everywhere.
