Without knowing technical analysis you can still slaughter the fund and blame something else.

You can invest without TA, using FA only, and probably be successful. But you can’t trade without a chart and be successful.
So why would anyone post on a forum for traders about how TA is only for tits and asses. If you don’t believe in TA, and thus obviously don’t trade, then why spend time here?

I am a chartist. Charts will give you a very good indication of where the orders are. I look at several time frames to try and establish what's going on. Markets are not monolithic: different groups of people with different tendencies inhabit different time frames. Most other professional traders do something similar. I looked at indicators etc back in the mid 80's and showed why they could never work over time. When I look at a chart the analysis part is deciding what will other traders do when they look at the same thing. You will only learn that by doing a lot of watching. In very very very simple terms it's support and resistance. Note the "very".
So are you saying you just look at a price chart? No indicators? No MA’s, or other indicators? Only looking for where prices reverse up and down? Volume?

I read all the posts in this thread with chuckles. Here's the real skinny...
1. As to "double top or double bottom"... It may be semantics but I'd call these "matched high and matched low"... as the notion of "double" infers that they be closer together. In either case, they mean the same thing.
2. You can "just look at price chart"; that's the main. You can use indicators also if you know how to use properly (most don't). MAs not especially useful but most of us keep an eye on the 50 and 200 day MAs.
3. Forget volume. Not useful. In fact, harmful in that consideration of it will cause you to miss (some) good trades when "volume doesn't confirm".
What you get to know in TA is mostly the "start" of something... in this case the start of the down turn from the 2nd high of the matched high and the same on the 2nd low. Knowing that means "TA was 100% correct" in this instance. Lots of deniers poo-poo TA because they expect too much... and when they don't get what they hope, they claim "all TA is BS". Nothing could be further from the truth. Proper TA will highlight the "start". You have to play the follow-through by ear.
You did right by calling on the 2x top and 2x bottom. Don't let the bozos distract you.

.ITS both.Many times a long term uptrend will help you on your longs\ but AMZN put in a major top in NOV.
You do have plenty of trash on thatt chart, but antique dealer$ deal well with trash+ treasure
AS far as skin in game ok /i don't regret taking profits every now + then on TQQQ[AMZN=8% of qqq]
BUT i seldom try to short term trade QQQ related/\ too wild.
BUT QQQ is doing much better weekly, year to date than AMZN + no single stock risk.
