You can run it on different machines - not at the same time. TC2000 on the other hand issues a "machine key" that prohibits it from being used at all on more than 1 computer, period, which is a real pain in the ass for your exact reason. Since TC doesn't access the data in real-time there's no way for them to prevent multiple PCs other than the way they do it.
