As much as this is perhaps 50% a joke, I wonder about the other 50%. Your suggestion was certainly irrational, since the cat should have no influence at all, except of course if its a distraction, and in which case, simply closing the door to keep it out would have been a good solution. But the fact that you're expressing a concern to your wife and she doubles down on what you identify as the problem means that perhaps one day it will be the wife that has to go!

No joke there either. If your wife isn't supportive of what you're doing, and instead tries to sabotage you, you're gonna have a much bigger issue than simply not hitting your original profit target.

My wife is 100% supportive and trades also. As for leaving my wife,
I'd give up trading before I would ever consider leaving my wife.
My cat is crazy, even if you shut the door it growls like a lion
at the door. But it's something we've learned to deal with.

I agree that psychology plays a huge part in trading. But you can't dismiss the fact that you MUST have a profitable strategy in the first place to make money. Just harboring positive thoughts, while important, is not enough.

Your statement about a spouse is unable to help in trading is
incredibly untrue. I think maybe you mean, a man needs
to have the right wife, and one who is supportive in his
trading endeavors to be of help.

Making a general statement like that is not very intelligent sir.
I can understand if that's your experience, but no one can
ascertain if a spouse can be beneficial for trading but the
two people involved in a relationship.

I agree that psychology plays a huge part in trading. But you can't dismiss the fact that you MUST have a profitable strategy in the first place to make money. Just harboring positive thoughts, while important, is not enough.

I think that's one of the reasons many traders keep looking,
trying, testing, and searching for knowledge that turns
consistent profits.

Women want to see bills paid and having nice car and nice house and the things they want.

Yes, the care about us trading, because they know we enjoy it. But make no mistake about it, at the end of the day, that damn trading better not get in the way of this what I stated:

If any man, cannot provide those things trading or not, no woman for them.

All I want my woman, to tell me is "SML, are you a millionaire yet or not from all this trading and starring at chart you doing"

That is the type of motivation I need.

Hello mikeriley,

What is it a woman can tell you about trading besides what you already know. And that is keep on working hard baby and stay focus baby. And make money to pay the bills and get us out of debt and rich so we can retire early.

You already know that already. And that is all you need to know.

I do not need to be intelligent, WE need to be realistic and understand why we are trading the future markets. I do not even know what intelligent means. It means nothing to me. the old Pit traders was not intelligent, they wanted to be rich. and rich quickly.

Women got nothing to do with us mastering the market besides giving us free time and space to concentrate.

Well, think of it this way. Do you believe you will get a better quality sleep if you were sleeping in a multi-million dollar mansion as oppose to your 2 bedroom apartment (figuratively speaking)? Maybe for a few days, but over the long haul, it won't make much difference.

If you don't know how to be content with what you already have, no amount of money will fill that void.
