Think or Swim

Quote from S2007S:

I had them got rid of them and then went back to them to open an IRA, still have no clue why im paying $9.99 a trade when I can go with my other broker and pay 0.01 a share.

Why would anyone be paying $9.99 per trade at Ameritrade if they were an "active" trader. If you are an "active" trader, EVERYTHING'S negotiable.

I guess you guys are small-time players then. I frequently trade 20-30K shares, so 0.01/share is much worse than 9.99/trade.

Understood.
Just do the Math.
That having been said, the $9.99 per trade is negotiable.

That was thing about ToS, it was the ultimate for a small fry like me. I deal in single contracts in options. The commish for 1 contract $1.50.

TD AMERITRADE is like $12.50.

It looks like trading is going back to the days of $50,000 minimum accounts.

This is very depressing, Thinkorswim had a cult following. I met a lot of people through their chat. According to Tom and Scott the current customers are gonna have their fees grandfathered in. But its never going to be the same.

A bit disappointed but I guess you can't blame the Tom's for wanting to cash out. I do a fair amount of volume in spreads and may set up a demo account at IB. Will save a few dollars there, but would rather stay w/TOS and keep their platform. Will see how it goes.

ditto for me

Been looking at OptionMonster. Interesting platform and rates less than TOS. Perhaps the stranger the name, the better the platform.:D
