I used the TOD desktop for paper trading for a long time before actually completing the account application and funding. I just created an account on the website, DL'ed the software and used it. You have to make sure you are logging into "paperMoney" and not "Live" or "Investools paperMoney". If you can't get in try resetting your PW.
