don't mix work and pleasure. write and test ideas. post to elite trader or your favorite board.

I used to send cranky emails to the NYSE or various specialists firms that say things like, 'you're XYZ specialist is a petty thief.' Since I'm getting away from blaming people for things, I do that alot less now....

Occasionally I start a controversial thread, throw myself into it, and then watch it get pulled.

Oh I don't know volume we could ask 1Reasons Secretary about:

Bad Fills
Light Volume
And Mirco Scalps as opposed to the longer term trades she prefers.

:)

Actually, during the school year I found a program one day a week for 1 hour where I would go to the school and work with "at risk kids". Would highly recommend it if they have it in your area and you can walk away from the monitor for a while.

hear, hear to that last part!

How about sharing a few ideas. I'll start:

1)Surf the web

2) Catch up on your email

Ok that takes care of the more obvious ones. Any others?

Doing #1 or #2 is a good way assure that when you look up at the charts, a significant market move will already be underway.

I would only do this during the dead-zone lunch hour

besides this should only be a problem if you were scalping.
