Manafort may have a defense based upon the search of his house. Apparently, documents protected by attorney-client privilege were seized. that is odd because I thought the FBI was known for pushing the limits on searches and seizures. Especially, recently on computers and attorney client subject matter and probably on wire taps.

They probably have the goods on Manafort but I find it troubling that a guy is singled out for a legal anal search mainly because he worked for Trump. No Trump, no Manafort prosecution.
We do not have a system where people are picked out and examined for innocence. That is more a Marxist characteristic. Our system is supposed to require an actual crime, then we investigate the crime.
The whole premise of this special counsel investigation was erroneous. At most, it should have been limited to whether Trump attempted to obstruct justice. Supposed Russian influence or coordination is not criminal. As the Clintons are now quick to explain, there is no law against asking Russians for dirt on your opponent.
