Quote from Ricter:
I live on a farm now, but previously I was in a condo in town. I don't read the local news, it's parochial. As Thoreau said:
"And I am sure that I never read any memorable news in a newspaper. If we read of one man robbed, or murdered, or killed by accident, or one house burned, or one vessel wrecked, or one steamboat blown up, or one cow run over on the Western Railroad, or one mad dog killed, or one lot of grasshoppers in the winter, - we need never read of another. One is enough. If you are acquainted with the principle, what do you care for a myriad instances and applications?"
Years ago I realized that he's completely right. Only news at the international level has been sufficiently filtered.
Quote from shortie:
It appears that the ruling US cast is starting to pay the price for the decades of abusing the poor.
What has been the strategy of dealing with the underprivileged? Put them together and let them rot in their neighborhoods. I am sure it was a cheaper and easier fix than trying to really solve the inequality problem. If i am wealthy i will just move away from those bad neighborhoods and forget about them. Problem solved.
Naturally, the rot has been accumulating and now some of the underprivileged refuse to be contained in the neighborhoods. It's possible that we have seen nothing yet.
Quote from Betapeg:
With this utterly retarded racist rant, it's no wonder you're a creationist. THE MARXIST BLACK PEOPLE ARE COMING FOR US ALL!!!!!!111
Riiiiiight....
Quote from Maverick74:
Abusing the poor? Can you walk me through this logic a little bit. I'm having a hard time with this. We have collectively as a country dumped 100's of billions in the ghettos over the years...hundreds of billions....and it's only gotten worse. So what exactly are you suggesting?
