You have a convoluted theory of "Sadat wanting to kiss up to americans but he also needed to show he is big fish" Problem is, Sadat was not going to be a big fish to US no matter what he did. US was in a different class and its concern towards nations such as Egypt was to kick them out of Soviet Union's orbit. It is a rather interesting way to display your prowess by launching a surprise attack and asking Syria to help at the same time. Israel countered Syria first and then concentrated on Egypt's advance in Sinai. When the "smoke" cleared, Israel was not fighting on its own soil but advancing towards respective capitals of its foes.

Sadat's concern was to return the territory lost in previous wars and when he realized he was not going to be able to do it through military force, he decided to give it up and sign a peace treaty. Because he decided to do the only wise thing possible (instead of launching more futile wars) he was considered a traitor by people like you and eventually got shot.

I cannot get cornered by an arab nationalist. I also cannot get cornered by anyone who believes Iraq war was for Israel. That viewpoint's level of stupidity is only second to US spreading freedom and democracy in the Middle East.

What question? My question about Taiwan was essential to proving US relationship with Israel is neither unusual nor unreasonable. There were no takers because people don't want to face the music. Hatred of Israel is their reason for existence.

If you are still wondering why US needs Israel, if nothing else, it needs Israel to keep THE HORDE OF PEOPLE KNOWN AS ARABS in line.
