The Mexican welfare system is called "THE RIVER PLAN". The Mexican government has a rather simple el-neato plan for welfare programs, healthcare, social security, pension plan.

The Mexican gov uses "THE RIVER PLAN" to solve all those problems, they ship the problems across the Rio Grande river to you and me.

American gov (which we all know is a front for big business) wants these social deserters to come into the USA so labor costs can be held in check and lowered from a steady inflow of low wage workers. The mantra from American business is "Americans do not want these jobs, thats total and complete BS propaganda.

Any job will be sought out if indeed the wages were decent and not lowered to the cellars from scab workers.

No bad reflection personally towards the foreign workers as persons, they have a well intentioned motivation to rid themselves of slave labor wages in a country that is as corrupt as we are headed.

The problems these incoming workers cause aside from the obvious costs to our own social systems etc is they hurt others as they try to improve themselves. Business loves workers that they have under their thumb. Such a shame for us all.

The middle class in America is being decimated as we import scab workers and export good jobs, again for lower labor costs.

The mexican gov has been laughing about this for years. "Gringo's are so stupid!!!"

Growing salaries based on productivity is a good thing. But growing salaries based on government mandates is something else. The government can force companies to pay their employees higher wages, health care, etc. Fine. But don’t whine when the private sector hires illegal aliens and outsource its employment to India and China.

It’s stupid to you because you have no clue what has been going on the last 10 years. The Chinese government is officially Communist, but they are practicing Capitalism in almost everything they do. Berkeley has more communists than all of China. Why do you think the world’s best companies are scrambling to open factories in China and hire the local people there? China offers both unskilled and skilled labor on the cheap. It costs less to do business in China. Not a ridiculously litigious society. On top of all this, there is a brain-drain going on. More Americans are going to Chinese business schools because that is where all the action is.

I’m not saying I like any of this, by the way. I’m just pointing out the consequences. If you are going to have a society that penalizes productivity and rewards the unskilled, be prepared for the consequences…

Both parties take the blame for not enforcing the law, of course. Republicans have controlled congress for nearly a decade, the presidency for over 4 years....and you, among other sanctimonious republicans continue to blame the dems.

Why did you assume that there were local residents to do the work? When these people started working, more than 50% of the local residents were out of town. Most of the locals like myself who stayed back were working 12 hour shifts or more. By the way, I support giving legal papers to people who are willing to work.

Illegals dominate in industries like landscaping, house cleaning, restaurant services, farming, and construction. Tradermaji was speaking about the lack of workers in New Orleans to rebuild after Katrina. I have no doubts. I've been in SoFla for several months and it's very difficult to find laborers here in the Wilma aftermath. My neighbor installs rain gutters. Even with ten workers he's backlogged through August.

Get this through your heads. There's a shortage of low skilled low wage workers among Americans. Period! If you all are so delusional that you belive an unemployed software developer would take a job cleaning fish at a supermarket if only the pay were better than you're on drugs. Big business has NOTHING TO DO with immigration policy. As if Exxon or Haliburton or J.P. Morgan are dependant upon cheap labor. Get a life.
