These statements about transitory inflation are bs, it is INFLATION!

Its not as easy as it looks to answer those questions but to Biden’s point, raising taxes has the same effect on inflation as the Fed raising interest rates. The theory, and don’t knock me it’s not my theory but the accepted theory, is that raising interest rates or taxes will pull money out of the economy, slowing down velocity and dampening demand amd thus controlling inflation.
I actually believe a better tax policy would be superior to the Fed’s current policy.
The discussion on tax policy is completely and totally different than what is causing inflation. That's how to answer that question. Of course, putting a statement out (in the form of a tweet) linking the two is foolish, and what got them in this in the first place.
To say "its harder than it looks to answer these questions" is also a cop out. They are hired and get paid to answer these questions. Its their one job, and they're failing miserably. Instead of falling back on partisanship, just admit the clusterfuck and say we need to move on as soon as we can.
Its the only intellectually honest thing to say.
Fed rates aren’t causing inflation but it is being used to combat inflation. And there is nothing unsound about Biden’s statement because in economics it’s totally legitimate way to remove money from circulation.
My comment about her nonanswer was sort of a light criticism of her, it really is harder than it looks being up there and she is finding out. Also, beyond that good for Ducey Jr, he’s sort of known for being a clown but he asked a real Q and followed up when he got a non answer. He might just become a real reporter but then of course he will turn away from the conservative stuff.
How did these idiots pass their basic economics 101 classes? If they all failed it, they should be removed from office and charged for fraudulently, representing themselves as fit to occupy their government jobs as Congressmen, Senators or even US President. None of them are fit to even be a dog catcher.
And then what: Become a real reporter like Chris Cuomo or Brian Williams?
