There is no cure for Gambling Addiction Traders

Quote from emg:

Why don't we define A.D.D:

Inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity are the key behaviors of ADHD.

Predominantly inattentive type symptoms may include:[29]

* Be easily distracted, miss details, forget things, and frequently switch from one activity to another
* Have difficulty maintaining focus on one task
* Become bored with a task after only a few minutes, unless doing something enjoyable
* Have difficulty focusing attention on organizing and completing a task or learning something new or trouble completing or turning in homework assignments, often losing things (e.g., pencils, toys, assignments) needed to complete tasks or activities
* Not seem to listen when spoken to
* Daydream, become easily confused, and move slowly
* Have difficulty processing information as quickly and accurately as others
* Struggle to follow instructions.

Predominantly hyperactive-impulsive type symptoms may include:[29]

* Fidget and squirm in their seats
* Talk nonstop
* Dash around, touching or playing with anything and everything in sight
* Have trouble sitting still during dinner, school, and story time
* Be constantly in motion
* Have difficulty doing quiet tasks or activities.

and also these manifestations primarily of impulsivity:[29]

* Be very impatient
* Blurt out inappropriate comments, show their emotions without restraint, and act without regard for consequences
* Have difficulty waiting for things they want or waiting their turns in games

OK, now I am convinced you don't know what you are talking about. Look, those symptoms you mentioned with people with ADD manifest themselves when they are engaging in activities in which they are NOT interested in. This is why kids with ADD tend to do poorly in school because they are usually doing things they are bored with and hence perform poorly. However, when those same kids actually do an activity they enjoy, all the symptoms you mentioned above go away.

Same is true with traders. Traders with ADD exhibit none of those symptoms when trading. But outside of trading, they tend to have some or all of those issues. There is ample evidence to support this.

I already see tons of failed trader in these thread who fit these extra qualities.

You can see an infinite amount of them if you look at yourself in-between 2 mirrors that face each other.:p

Look out, cause this is what you end up looking/sounding like if you are addicted: be careful!

....and so often the key to becoming a losing trader as well. :cool:

There's a fine line between addiction and obsession. To succeed at trading one has to be at least nearly if not completely obsessed, just like an obsession is required to become a professional athlete. Does the obsession necessarily have to rise to the level of addiction? I don't believe so.

Interesting topic though.

I would've left it alone, but since you went there ...

[ ] knows how to form a complete sentence
[x] jumps to (incorrect) conclusions about people he's never met
