You still treat them. Ebola was 50%-60% fatal, Dr Without Border still treated patients in Africa without advanced protective gears. That is why I have lots of respect for the healthcare professionals.

Ebola is transmitted through blood so the chance of anyone getting it is extremely low.

The way things are going, it won't. As a minimum it will stay at a high level, as a max. it could be still growing. My fear is that medical stuff members are going to get sick and dying because of lack of protection and less people will be able to help us down the road.

The world's gone mad, media have everyone in a frenzy, people that went to the beach might aswell took a nuke and blown it up because there killing everybody, try talking sense into any and they block you, people are screaming for martial law and lock downs, kids that get sick just like with bad flus are plastered over the screen to drive fear that it could be you.

What's the alternative? Simply letting people die without any help? If the mortality rate is low, surely that's also because people actually are getting help?
Mortality rate aside - the point is that the medical system can't handle everyone getting sick at once, hence the need to flatten the curve. Regardless of corona, there's a shit load of stuff already going on at most hospitals and the capacity is most likely maxed out already in many places. The hospitals can't handle a huge influx of corona patients on top of that as well.
Also, the corona is not just a regular flu. For some, it might be, i.e., mild symptoms, but some people actually get really sick and I believe it's a bit more contagious too.

The mortality rate is down because we are testing more and the majority of cases are mild. Some have been told not to even come into the emergency unless severe which is not the majority. The elderly and already sick are the ones who are having issues. I suggested keep those quarantined and let everyone else catch it and deal with it. Just like we deal with the 1000s of other issues, like blowing up your account lol, car accident, obesity, heart issues, meteor hitt8ng our head etc. The blow to the economy if we continue this path will be a much bigger problem than .02%- 1% fatality rate (as more tested that number will surely shrink). I can’t even fathom what a deep global economic crisis will look like if we keep this up. Chaos, our rights taken away, food shortages, looting etc.
