For all you guys who think this is nothing that bad, I wish we could split the city you live in into two pieces. Those who want to carry on like normal may do so, but full well knowing that if they run into trouble there won't be any help. You can go out to dine, go out to shop, go to a concert and have a good time, but if you fall ill, you're on your own. If you happen to fall on your face and break your arm, you're also on your own because the local hospital will have no space for you. If you get into a car accident, that may not even be your fault, you're own your own, and if you happen to get syphilis from fucking random girls at the concert, you're also out of luck with regards to getting your antibiotics.
The other half of the city might live in isolation for a few months, but they will know that if they do fall ill, the medical staff will do their best to help them, no matter how stretched thin the resources might be.
Which half of the city do you want to live in?
This also loops back nicely to how our economy works. All those big businesses want less regulation, free to do what they want, praise the merits of capitalism, always vote for republicans to give them freedom, but the minute they fuck-up, buy back all their shares and run out of cash, they want to run to the government for a bailout. Can't have it both ways.
