This thread is a worthy discussion but it definitely is not about politics but understandable the Political section here at the forum is somewhat fucked up...anything goes.
Yet, if someone wants a serious discussion about public policy...I wouldn't start such here at the forum except maybe in the Chit-Chat section. There, it will get less attention and that's OK in my opinion especially if you want a more serious discussion.
Regardless, there are too many variables missing from these types of ethnic crime statistics because many do not understand or underestimate the impact of the institutionalized separation of a child from the mother has on future generations.
For example, rip a child from an Indigenous mother for the so purpose to send the child to
residential school to take away their religion, take away their language, take away their culture...
It impacts future generations down the road from that child in a way that's not beneficial for the family or society.
Now look at the history of other ethnic groups and you'll see a pattern of ripping a family apart, separation, discrimination, brutality against the culture to oppress a culture...people then bitch about the result many decades later and start saying...
They say the above with tongue in cheek while creating laws to continue trying to take away their voice.
Guess what, go live in an Asian country, Middle East, South America...the same thing occurs there with similar like result. The oppressed culture begins fighting back and it takes many decades or +100 years before the statistics reverse or equalize but in those countries, they are talking about other cultures...not Hispanic nor Black.
I've lived in other countries, the same is true there too but involving a different culture...
