I once saw a chart like this that removed all urban area homicides and violence and did a comparison, and the US was considerably better than some on that list.
The problem is the inner city.

For decades, the share of U.S. children living with a single parent has been rising, accompanied by a decline in marriage rates and a rise in births outside of marriage. A new Pew Research Center study of 130 countries and territories shows that the U.S. has the world’s highest rate of children living in single-parent households.
No doubt removing US murder and gun violence from US stats would improve US stats among similar nations in those categories![]()
Yeah, I guess I'm not saying we should remove them from the numbers (can't do that and keep an apples to apples comparison), but if the problem stems from the inner cities, then the solution might be there, too.
