I only made an observation regarding the mental illness parallel as food for thought. No need to be defensive. However, I'm sure you'll agree that the white supremacists on this board provide exogenous rationales for their aberrant viewpoints and behavior. Every racist here in P&R believes he has a legitimate reason to feel the way he does.

Just quickly...I'll add more later. I think racism is created from FEAR. Fear of not understanding what is different...uncertainty. Our instinctual reptilian mode has a defense mechanism attached to it...we become territorial. We don't want to let go of what we think belongs to us...what is rightfully ours. We believe, if we lose something, it will lead to more pain or suffering...again...losing is uncertainty...not surviving. Who benefits? In a more modern and complex society like we have today, I think the illusion of leadership is really opportunists who stand to profit from racism...this is also a reason racism is maintained...fear is the biggest reason, of course. Few are legit.
Disagree. Racism is about being against something with no rational basis. If there is legitimate reason to fear and hate, that's not racism.
So... do we civilized western whites fear muslim extremists... and what about Chicago's black gang punks? Of course. Is that because of being racist? HELL NO! It's legitimate fear based upon their violent behavior.
Von Miller (you all know who he is) is my neighbor. Am I "anti Miller" and if so, because he's black? Hell NO! I'm not anti Miller at all.... actually, I've been in his house... and wish him the best all around. To my "leftist" friends on this board, who apparently have never had a bad thought about any group before. Asian people have been victims of American influence. The Chinese were discriminated against during the construction of the railroads...lower pay, more hazardous tasks (approx. 1200 died), most whites were given free food & board (Chinese had to pay). Japanese were put in camps during WWII...oh...we bombed the shit out of them. Where is the "social tension" between whites and Asians in America? I forgot, whites discriminated against whites in the past. When the Irish first immigrated to America, they were treated as second class citizens...they were very much hated.
