Maybe in 5000 years from today what you believe of god will change, but have similar parts of your story. And the new story will say your story was false god.
of course they work. they were manufactured to work while anything that didnt fit was censored and those that believed it were killed. if you went to a secular college and actually studied the history of the bible and still consider it truth i have to wonder about your college. even most religious scholars have concede that most of the bible is mythical.Quote from stockerup:

Yea, I know what you mean; I really questioned those religion professors that I had; especially those that taught the "higher criticism" format.
Those religious scholars you refer to are far outnumbered by people who live today and have a strong relationship with Jesus Christ.
You know, we can go on all day long with this, but it really gets down to a personal choice. If you're good with what you believe, then that is your prerogative; just make sure you are making the right decision. Even if you consider it a 50-50 chance, it is too big of a chance to take when choosing where you will spend eternity.
