Ive got a marvelous idea, one that no one else has thought of. If Mexico refuses to pay for the Wall, why not send them all our murderers and rapists. We have way more than they do! Then we can pay for the wall with the money saved on prison beds which will be on the order of 50K/yr per prisoner. Using this method, the Wall will be paid for in no time.

Yeh. because you guys are so good at taking illegals- running california would be a piece of cake. NOT. MS-13 would be running Toronto by the end of the month. It is easy to talk ballsy when the United States is on your southern border and you have icebergs on the north. Are you going to require that all immigrants coming into California must know either english or french as you do now for immigrants? Good luck with that.
You apparently are under the illusion that the US is a favorable neighbor these days. Toronto gets gun smuggling from the US and we run the risk of collateral damage if one of North Korea's strikes loses direction. Seriously, dude, your country is a mess and we are waiting for you to get sensible and straighten it out. Stop making enemies and use some common sense.
It might be time for you to realize how fortunate you are to have Canada as a neighbor. Imagine if we were a republic of Russia or China. You could then deal with the pressures of them beefing up their military installations all across that giant border. You'd be even more paranoid as a nation then you are now, and goodbye 500 Billion in free trade.
I can see why you might say based on the Canadian cloistered view of the world. But, yes, if you had the border problems that the united states, europe, africa, and south america have you would see that having the united states is a "favorable neighbor." If you suddenly woke up tomorrow and venezuela or mexico was on your southern border, let's just say it would be "different," eh?
As far as Canada "taking" California, keep in mind that both the population and the GDP of California are greater than the entire country of Canada. More likely, the United States will just annex Canada some day for extra storage space or to have a secure supply of maple syrup or something.

Canada has been a nuclear power as long as you have, and there is no shortage of expertise in building weapons with nuclear war heads. In the event that the US ever went rogue and tried to annex Canada, the bloodshed would be massive on both sides of the border.

Okay. well that would certainly get the worlds attention if you did that- which could be a good thing in some ways- otherwise lots of people don't even know you are there. You gotta do what you gotta do to protect your moose and strategic supplies of maple syrup.
