I asserted it was 'par for the course.' Is that, or isn't that a true statement.
I made no assertions as whether a would-be POTUS should be given participation trophies for multiple failed businesses that were started with Daddy's money. Or whether that's equivalent to entrepreneurs who had to work hard, and/or borrow, for seed money.
If that's something you wish to debate, I can't help you, sorry.

Yeah ... kinda how discussion forums work.your inevitable response

A wall was needed.... but you cons trusted trump when he told you HE could build the best wall better than anyone...and Mexico would pay for it...
you guys were so blinded by "Wall! Wall! Wall!" you let one of the greatest con men pull one over on you haha...
The Dems will gladly do DACA permanent residency with path to citizenship for the 5 billion. They just need to have Trump on public record saying it so he doesn't do a 180 as he did a year ago.
Then they would be fools as this would be their only shot instead of kicking those people/can down the road.
How many more decades should they wait so they can keep getting used as a political football?
They did because he didn't follow the right reasoning or protocol. He can easily kill it as an EO if he follows the right steps. I'd rather not see 800k+ people out of a job and ripe for deportation waiting two years on the off chance the Dems control both houses with a stacked docket and zero Republican support.
And I'd rather not wager with people's lives on some pissing match
I've said before that the 5 billion for DACA amnesty is a "fair" deal. It's a dumb waste of money, but worth the relief for those kids and a net economic positive if that's the compromise, and at least a fence is better than a wall. The new Trump ask for the private prison beds is a deal breaker though.
It won't happen if he keeps taking advice from Dobbs and Coulter though. At least fox is switching the narrative now.
What is this we? Are you part of the undocumented population putting their lives on hold?
So sacrifice the whole lot rather than save a few? . So all those kids who could've had a future, made a livelihood and paid taxes be damned? Let them fend for themselves and sling dope instead? Give them residency and win people's hearts by what they'll achieve, pave the way for broader reform. Comprehensive Immigration reform is a pipe dream for the next decade, as sadly as it is to admit, public perception was in much better shape during the Bush years and even then it was an uphill battle that wasn't won.
The dems. will not put immigration reform at the fore front when/if they take both Houses and the presidency, Trump's assured there are many more problems that will need fixing and will take priority (Healthcare being one of them again). How much did Obama get done when he had everything? Democrats always try to compromise and will lose as a result, the amount of obstruction will ensure nothing gets moving and immigration will be at the back of the line as always.
I'm glad you found the spokesperson for a million kids.
No, unlike you, I'm unwilling to use kids that through no fault of their own found themselves in this situation and have excelled at being decent folk only to be used as sacrificial lambs just so the rest can bank on their success. You want to make a hard sell impossible.
These democrats were ready to give 25 billion for less just a year ago, don't make it sound like they're having a come to jesus moment trying to save everyone. You're also ignorant of the budget used in border enforcement. Obama blew way more than 5 billion on it trying to compromise with Republicans and cracking down on immigration. He was a much more compassionate person on immigrants, but also way more effective at removing them. Point blank you're letting the hate for the symbolism of the wall cloud your judgment on what's been done in the past in terms of spending.
The reality is DreamAct will cost way more than 5 billion to get passed w/o leverage 2 or 3 years from now, and you're risking the program being struck down and putting all these people out of a job on the off chance the next president re-institutes it.
In a way, you remind me of BernieBros that voted Trump because they were banking on him destroying the system and him being so hated that he'd never appoint 1 supreme court, let alone 2 supreme court justices because the Dems. would "obstruct" and then take the senate in 2018.
you're quoting NumbersUSA in an immigration debate and I'm the one who's delusional? Did you even read that doozy of a question?
I've addressed this before, the Dems can't afford to be branded as pitting dreamers vs citizens by outright suggesting it.
I don't have a poll for a ridiculous specific question, but if I did and it came from such piss poor source as NumbersUSA, I wouldn't post it.
Good luck with your clean CIR & no border enforcement goals of 2019 and beyond
Except they were ready to "sell out" all those people a year ago for a heftier price.
clearly you don't know immigrants if you think giving their sons and daughters a shot while they wait their turn is pitting them against each other.
A fund raising lobby proposing poison pill legislation that'll never pass so the donations/pay checks keep coming in "until they get it done.". These groups have latched onto the dream act branding.
