Most employees would rather not have any sort of outside attention brought to them/their job.
For example, adding Justices means each justice has less, individual, "power."
Even just the notion that 'you too, Justices, can be f'd with' can be problematic for people that exist on a pedestal.
Fully understanding this concept likely requires certain real-life experiences. Either being on the ass end; or on the other end, of it.
Again, the effect is psychological, not something "massive" with respect to reality.
My guess The Supremes are not too concerned.
