The Truth about Forex

Quote from dev:

Fair enough.
I've been around trading forums a similar time. Used to jump on people who were BS'ing. So I do understand it.
But I do believe this 'policing' brings a lot of immature crowd-followers out of the woodwork, in the same way riots do.
I should know, I used to do it! ;)

I cba fighting the bullshitters these days.. and cba being part of the 'forum police' either.. it's such an enormous waste of time, usually.
Let the BS'er get on with it, I've got more productive things to think about.

But when you step back and view a forum from a distance, it becomes obvious the forum police can spoil a forum much more than the bullshitter.
Not the way a 'community' should be.

I say take people at face value, and if they're BSing it will be obvious at some point. Then you report them.
They always slip up, without exception.
Nobody has to start demanding proof or stamping their feet.

I'd go as far to say: this behaviour often says more about the 'policer' than it does the BS'er.

More than that, it doesn't affect my trading; so why should I waste precious time & energy caring about the authenticity of someone's claims & credentials?

It becomes even more inane when you consider that the forum is an anonymous forum!!

I don't necessarily agree with all but I do agree with much of your statement.

Out of curiosity, what's your opinions on Jack Hershey and Marketsurfer?

I don't follow every thread here, so I'd have to read more before judging.

From what I have seen, people mention hershey's name a lot.. so he's either very good, very convincing, or just plain annoying.
But he certainly gets people talking.

Whats the deal with him?

So once again, I enjoyed reading the OP's 1st post and then spent the next 10 minutes reading total shit. But maybe I should thank our battled hardened shining protectors
or the less fortunate huddled masses who would, unsolicited mind you, relinquish their life savings to the OP. Carry on OP and others with substance to add and thanks to the
Vigilance of the ET warriors of truth.

Unnecessary complication obfuscation and impossible to believe claims, mostly.

Then follow your heart.. it's probably right!
;)

Although, I have seen amazing things done with a trading account (first hand experience).. so I know it's 'possible' to reach dizzy heights in a very short time.

It's just highly improbable for most.
And certainly not likely to last long.

Which brings us nicely back to use/abuse of leverage!

I don't why but I smell something fishy. Is this a joke ?
You leverage up on carry trades that you keep for years ?
That's not being an FX trader ... you trade FX based on funny mentals, you manage a few mil and have 10 K plus a month in data subscriptions ? wtf , a bad week is 500 pips lol And funniest of all, a client asks you to double his money " in just a few months " and you oblige !

lol, Just read a little of Mr Hershey - about 20 pages - 'obfuscation' is an understatement!

Now I can give you my opinion:
Whatever he is, he loves the spotlight and never gets to the point.
Reminds me of Bruce Margolese, but with bigger words.

He requires a stage and captive audience.. as much as he berates people, he loves the attention.
What better stage than a trading forum, full of people who want to be rich?
Him being vague just keeps them there. Take away the vagueness, they'd soon go elsewhere. Take away the audience, he'd soon go elsewhere.
Be very surprised if he really makes money trading.
Probably around 5'2" and has a very small penis.

Just another of life's hidden nutters, showing up on the internet.

Well done, I was just testing to see if you'd call a spade a spade.

Outstanding, and you totally failed my test to see whether you could resist testing people you don't yet know..

..just as I predicted.
