and that's on top of the President saying it for 8 years before that. Suddenly every east coast liberal and left coast elite are experts on Rednecks and White Supremists. I don't consider myself one, but that's what they think I must be because why else would I vote for Trump? They live in a very binary world and can't understand why people like us would not vote for more free stuff which they think the rich should give to us. Perhaps someday the light bulb will go off and they realize we are not motivated by what they assume motivates people who are not like them. It is really messing with their world view because if you stay logical one can only conclude that we don't like them very much and that is hard for them to accept.

This is all true, but the point I was making is that they say voters are stupid. Obama was elected by voters, too.

No kidding, Pretty sure the republicans have underestimated just how motivating Trump can be to people who weren't really avid voters in the past. Everyone of us came out of the woodwork in 2016. How many of them will come out that don't live in NY or CA and do live in the Battleground?
I would expect the turnout at just the midterm election to set records! How 'bout you? And I would imagine the 2020 election will also set records for turnout. Trump is only one of five minority Presidents in the nation's history, but one of those was a virtually tie, so he is really only one of four. None of the other three were re-elected! Though one, Hayes did not even bother to run again. If nothing dramatic happens to turn Trump's popularity around, the Republicans will be in big trouble come 2020, because Trump doesn't strike me as the kind who will willingly step aside for someone else to run.. Maybe Trump can get help from Bashar al-Assad next go around. "It would be a good thing, wouldn't it?, if we had better relations with [Syria]. What's wrong with that?"

and it worked last time. But how many Trump enthusiasts will be left by 2020? I imagine about as many as Trump University graduates that want to sign up for post graduate work.
