The true (in a sense) cost of military spending and what else it could have bought

Quote from DAS Trader:
Why in the world would Iran want a nuclear bomb...seems crazy right?
So it can take out Israel, you idiot!

How could there be an Arab spring with all these American troops surrounding the Persian Gulf? Or is this the cause of it....

Not sure if you are being serious but Israel has hundreds of nukes. Nuclear powers don't tend to fire nukes at each other. So, if you are being serious, there is no precedent to support your thesis.

Would an Islam commit State martyrism for the elimination of an Infidel?

I doubt Iran would open themselves up to full scale nuclear retaliation. Besides, this exercise is academic since Iran has no nukes, is a signatory of the nuclear non proliferation treaty (unlike Israel), and is in compliance with the IAEA.

If you want a nuclear powered Muslim country to worry about, try Pakistan. They've threatened to shoot down our drones because we keep collaterally damaging their population, not to mention violating their sovereignty.

Quote from MarketMasher:

U.S. needs to be global policeman for other countries....

...so it can give them foreign aid money. :D

And we pretty much have the entire globe covered:

DAS...You're making be proud to be an American.
Its nice to see this country fulfill one of its main constitutional role. A strong national defense.

According to a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report published in October 2007, the U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could
cost taxpayers a total of $2.4 trillion dollars by 2017
when counting the huge interest costs because combat is being financed with borrowed money.

so the central bankers will again make huge $$$ from the war.
$2.4 trillion is not realistic. add twice that amount which goes through black budgets.

with 2.4 tr $ the USA could easily build, well 10 million homes.

18 million homes in USA are already vacant. So that would mean 28 million homes vacant.

boy, with so much supply, the prices can only drop! = less income for the bankers, ay ay ay

And for the uninitiated, this is what a trillion dollars looks like (that screencap is 1 billion):

And if we keep this up, this is what our currency will look like:
