It has been very interesting - indeed fascinating to read the posts in this forum. I spent some months in this Paltalk room before buying the course in January 2008. I was never kicked out, though people who make stupid/non market related comments are booted immediately as well as others.
Those thinking of joining TTZ should be under few illusions. This is a commercial operation: Caveat Emptor/Buyer Beware. HOWEVER, it is clear to me (and I've been trading for some 20 years with mixed success) that these guys are for real. Trades are posted in realtime. I personally (and anyone) should not give a f*** whether the moderators are posting / trading these signals for real themselves. Who cares?
The point is can they help ME with MY trading. I couldn't give a rats ass about their statements and their brand of xyz for that matter.
I believe they are actually trading, as the signals are frequently brilliant! BUT on days (or periods) when the market isn't giving then I have seen them take many losers, and Secretariat is human. He is clearly a good / very good trader, but he has his days off (not many I should add with this trader) and when the market is choppy he also gets chopped up. That is HUMAN, that is REAL, and that is how the markets actually work for most traders. Anything else would be fake. The truth is that those who can trade DO and those who can't, in general TEACH. These guys are the exception to some extent, as they overlap the two categories. The course is relatively cheap and it is clear that Greg works extremely hard at it, as do Sec and Mr Gator. It is also clear that they do not suffer fools easily. You either get it or you don't and having paid for the course (if you take it) you had better be prepared to work for some months/years at getting their teaching and your technique integrated otherwise use the money for something else as it would have been a total waste and TTZ clearly does not do refunds (for those of the buy it, use it and return it school of thought).
It is also clear that anyone doing this successfully trading, (as Adrianne Togharie so eloquently puts it) is obsessive compulsive and Sec is a clear example (btw its a compliment Sec, if you ever read this!!) You have to be slightly mad to stare at the screen all day long - but these guys (esp Sec) clearly LOVE what they are doing and they are extremely human. They are also very serious about selling their course, that is clear. Moreover, I for one am extremely grateful that at last I have found someone who can actually trade who is not so arrogant (as most successful traders become) as to refuse to share his or her anything at any price.
Since they are posting the trades anyway do you need to take the course? It helps, lets put it that way.
But its also instructive to just listen in the free room.
But don't for a blind minute think that you will subscribe and get all their concepts just like that. They are all derivatives of plain ol technical analysis but applied in a clever way (like their moving Market Profile) and moving averages etc etc BUT it will take some work to absorb and understand their stuff and INTEGRATE it into YOUR trading. This is a series of TECHNIQUES and not a formula, so essentially its discretionary to some degree. Despite having taken the course, I have only figured out part of why Sec is calling the trades. It would be nice if Sec could also (as well as Greg, who does the training) host one or two of the after hours training things, as he clearly has some of his own style / markers, and since he calls most of the trades in the room.
For me, its improved my trading no end- and I still have a lot of their materials to learn. Everyone will use the TTZ stuff in their own way. There is no 100% one way with this.
For anything other than the most seasoned trader (and then they know this anyway), one should be using one of the many platforms out there to SIM trade before committing real money to this stuff. I use the RCG Onyx 2 but Strategy Runner is good too etc.
Make no mistake. This is not personal hold your hand mentoring. You will have to learn their stuff and do some background reading on Market Profile etc. They will hold your hand to some (v tiny) extent but this is the jungle and these are the markets. Don't expect them to behave like kindergarten teachers as they are not.
Three hardened traders who are there to make some money in the market plus a few bucks teaching you. If they were THAT GOOD in the $millions per month league (Sec could get there some day - no doubt) they would not be talking to us perhaps. But also there is no doubt that they are calling real trades and you can improve your trading just listening to them.
The room is relaxing at times. Jokes are cracked, and the environment is to a great extent non-structured. If you call this b/s then fine, but that is their style but there is NO DOUBT that they are genuine traders (in my view). For some this style will be grinding and for others so often tense alone and trading it provides a great opportunity to laugh several times a day a whilst making money with pro's. They do miss some opportunities schmultzing and socializing BUT I have recently been making money using the stuff I have learnt despite that fact that the trades have not been "called" in the room.
This room is an invaluable tool for the scalper to improve their trading technique. But its not for everyone. And they are not going to give you all the signals (by G-d they give enough already) so thats it.
Also since I have been in the room the best period is often in the pre-market and later in the day. Note that the lunch time period is often a good time to take lunch yourself, though there are days when this is not true.
Well done TTZ - You have changed my trading life.
