the Tokyo Olympics are turning into a mess

If Canada pulls off the upset...I will go down as one of the biggest Canadian upsets in Olympic History for Canada.

Canada has waited a long time for a championship match and I'm glad that Sinclair with play in one prior to her own retirement.

As I called it, close game. Both teams had numerous chances to win, and in the end Canada takes the Gold. And no, it's not one of the biggest upsets in Olympic history. It is however a memorable result well earned by a gritty talented team.

Well it is Canada's first women's gold medal in this sport... great job on their part for this accomplishment.

Maybe you're right but here's a list of some of the biggest Olympic Upsets...you'll see that the Native American is listed as the number one upset (Billy Mills winning the 10,000m final)...my parents were at that Olympic games (mom on a freelance photo assignment).
Later, they thought about naming me after his great upset when she became pregnant.

Regardless, Sinclair got her Gold after 21 years of trying...absolutely amazing and I watched (recorded) the game from start to finish. By the way, Canada's goalie was great...I think the goal scored on her was a deflection.

She's one of the few active players in the world that's consider to be an ambassador of the sport.

Soccer lends itself to these kinds of results and the teams just weren't that different in skills to call it a mismatch. I remember when we played France for the bronze they had a similar feel tons of scoring threats and they were ranked just behind the Americans globally.

I coached soccer 10 years. I feel like I've been on both sides of that final as a coach or spectator several times and had trouble watching the first half. One of our normally good players was clearly having a rough time of it in their end. I noted they were subbed off at half time.
