The Tech Lead takes on BLM (and loses)

Ok, I had previously watched all but the very end. Just completed the whole video.

I've seen some of his videos in the past. He seemed like he was running out of good topics, so I had stopped following him several weeks ago.

IMO, he gambled and lost. He knew about 'cancel culture' before he made the video. He probably mis-calculated in thinking that the video would stay within "his circle" of fans.

And, it's no surprise to me that this was his first political video. IOW, he had avoided political topics intentionally--and after watching some of the first video ... for good reason.

Being a great coder, does not make one a great political thinker--The Peter Principle (We all rise to our level of incompetence. Being good at one thing makes us/others believe we'll be good at the next thing.)

There are obvious major flaws in his political conclusions. Not really interested in debating them, if you disagree. But I'm sure they're what sparked the outrage and drop in sponsors.

I wonder if his views will also go down?

Not saying that that's what I'm hoping. I hope that he talks to some people that could fill in what he's missing regarding the politics; and come away from this better for it--including a return of his viewers/sponsors.
I agree in that it was a dumb business decision on his part to critique BLM. Awhile back he was let go from Facebook and unleashed some blistering reviews of Facebook via some videos. He did not get any blow back from that and I guess he figured that if he can take on Facebook he can take on BLM. He learned otherwise.

How probable is it that he merely said he lost sponsors, when he actually didn't (or not to a great degree), to get folks to leave him alone?

Every video I have seen him do accept for the one about the Chinese guy committing suicide at Facebook mentions that the video is brought to you by so and so sponsor. His Doxxing video has no mention of any sponsors. I suspect he will get his sponsors back once things settle down.

Looks like our good friend the Tech Lead used his rational an logical thinking to take on BLM.

Well...we all know what the outcome of that would be.
Unbelievable. The cancel culture, created by the left. A bunch a stupid assholes.

there's a lot of money to grift on confirmation bias outrage clicks. Could just be complaining about a boycott that never really happened. You just get to sell the idea that it happened to your mark.
